Terms of Use

Effective October 12, 2026 · Last updated October 12, 2026

Welcome to Kadoora!

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Kadoora mobile application, the website at https://kadoora.com, and related services (collectively, the "Services").

Kadoora ("Kadoora," "we," "us," or "our") is a gifting platform based in Ontario, Canada, designed to help people discover gifts, create wishlists, organize events, connect with friends, and coordinate group gifting.

By creating an account, accessing, or using the Services, you agree to these Terms and acknowledge our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you must not use the Services.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or use Kadoora.

By using the Services, you represent that you are at least 18 years old, have the legal capacity to agree to these Terms, and will comply with applicable laws.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that do not meet these requirements.

2. Your Account

You may need to create an account to access certain features.

You agree to:

  • Provide accurate account information.
  • Keep your login credentials secure.
  • Maintain and update your information when necessary.
  • Notify us if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.
  • Use your account only for lawful purposes.

You are responsible for activity conducted through your account to the extent permitted by applicable law.

You may not impersonate another person, create accounts using misleading identities, or access another user's account without permission.

3. Kadoora's Services

Kadoora provides tools that help users:

  • Create and manage gifting events.
  • Build and share wishlists.
  • Connect with friends.
  • Discover gifts using AI-powered recommendations.
  • Coordinate group gifts and record contributions.
  • Receive notifications about relevant activities.

Kadoora is a coordination platform. We do not manufacture, sell, deliver, or guarantee the availability of gifts displayed or recommended through the Services.

Features may change, become unavailable, or be discontinued as the Services evolve.

4. Events, Invitations, and Participation

Users may create events, invite participants, manage participation requests, and share event-related information.

Event organizers are responsible for providing accurate event details, managing invitations and participation, and communicating relevant arrangements to participants.

Organizers must not use events to mislead participants, solicit fraudulent payments, or engage in unlawful activities.

Participation in an event does not guarantee that a gift will be purchased, delivered, or received.

Kadoora may restrict access to events based on invitations, approvals, and applicable privacy settings.

Surprise Events

Kadoora supports surprise events intended to keep certain information hidden from the recipient until the organizer reveals the event.

Participants should respect the surprise and avoid intentionally disclosing confidential event details.

Although we provide privacy controls, we cannot guarantee that other participants will keep an event secret.

5. Wishlists and Gift Information

Users may create wishlists containing gift ideas, product descriptions, links, and other relevant information.

You are responsible for ensuring that information you submit is accurate and that you have the right to share it.

Wishlist items do not constitute purchase orders or guarantees of product availability, pricing, quality, or delivery.

You should independently verify product details before making a purchase.

6. Group Gifting and Contributions

Kadoora allows users to coordinate group gifts and record intended or confirmed contributions.

Kadoora does not process, collect, hold, transfer, or refund contribution funds.

Payments are arranged directly between users outside the Services, such as through Interac e-Transfer or other independently selected payment methods.

6.1 Responsibilities of Organizers

Event organizers are responsible for:

  • Providing accurate payment instructions.
  • Communicating contribution arrangements.
  • Confirming receipt of payments accurately.
  • Managing gift purchases and delivery arrangements.
  • Addressing payment questions and refund requests from contributors.

Organizers must not falsely confirm payments, misrepresent gift purchases, or use group gifting features for fraudulent purposes.

6.2 Responsibilities of Contributors

Contributors are responsible for verifying the recipient and payment instructions before sending money.

A contribution recorded within Kadoora does not, by itself, prove that funds were transferred or received.

You should use appropriate precautions when transferring money to another person.

6.3 Payment Disputes and Refunds

Because payments occur outside Kadoora, refunds, reversals, and disputes must be addressed directly between the individuals involved or through their financial institutions.

Kadoora cannot reverse an external payment or guarantee recovery of transferred funds.

We may review reports of suspected fraud or misuse and take appropriate action concerning Kadoora accounts, but we are not obligated to resolve financial disputes between users.

Nothing in these Terms excludes responsibilities that cannot lawfully be excluded.

7. AI Gift Finder

Kadoora uses artificial intelligence, including Google Gemini, to generate gift suggestions.

AI recommendations are generated using information you provide and, where applicable, recipient profile information, interests, wishlist information, and gift-related notes.

AI-generated results may be inaccurate, incomplete, outdated, inappropriate, or unsuitable for the intended recipient.

You are responsible for evaluating recommendations and independently verifying product information, pricing, availability, and suitability before purchasing gifts.

Kadoora does not guarantee the accuracy, originality, availability, or suitability of AI-generated recommendations.

Information Submitted for AI Processing

You agree not to submit information that you do not have the right or appropriate authority to share.

Do not include sensitive personal information, confidential information, financial credentials, or other information that should not be disclosed to an external AI provider.

Information submitted to AI features may be processed by third-party providers as described in our Privacy Policy.

8. User Content

You may submit content such as profile descriptions, photographs, event details, wishlists, notes, messages, and gift information ("User Content").

You retain ownership of your User Content, subject to any rights held by third parties.

By submitting User Content, you grant Kadoora a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, display, process, and share that content solely as reasonably necessary to operate, maintain, improve, and provide the Services, consistent with our Privacy Policy and your applicable privacy settings.

This licence ends when the relevant content is deleted, except where continued processing or retention is reasonably necessary for authorized shared features, legal obligations, or other purposes permitted by applicable law.

You represent that you have the rights necessary to submit your User Content and that it does not violate another person's rights.

We may remove content that violates these Terms or applicable law.

9. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Engage in fraud, scams, or deceptive gifting or payment activities.
  • Harass, threaten, bully, or abuse other users.
  • Impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity.
  • Upload unlawful, harmful, or infringing content.
  • Share another person's sensitive information without appropriate authorization.
  • Attempt to access private accounts, events, wishlists, or data without permission.
  • Circumvent security controls or interfere with the operation of the Services.
  • Use automated tools to scrape, harvest, or collect user information without authorization.
  • Distribute malware or exploit vulnerabilities.
  • Use Kadoora for unlawful commercial solicitation or spam.
  • Misuse the AI Gift Finder or attempt to circumvent usage limits.

We may investigate suspected violations and take proportionate action, including removing content, restricting features, or suspending accounts.

10. Third-Party Products and Services

Kadoora may display product recommendations, retailer links, or information supplied by third parties.

Purchases made through external retailers are governed by those retailers' own terms, policies, prices, and return procedures.

Kadoora is not responsible for the products, services, delivery, warranties, or refund policies of independent third parties.

Links to third-party websites do not necessarily constitute endorsement.

11. Privacy

Your use of Kadoora is also governed by our Privacy Policy, available at:

https://kadoora.com/privacy

The Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, retain, and protect personal information, including information processed through AI features.

12. Notifications and Communications

Kadoora may send functional notifications about invitations, friend requests, events, contributions, and account activity.

You can manage push notification permissions through your device settings.

We may send promotional emails only where we have the required consent. You can unsubscribe from marketing communications at any time.

Important service-related communications may still be sent when reasonably necessary.

13. Account Suspension and Termination

You may stop using Kadoora at any time and permanently delete your account through the mobile application.

Account deletion begins after confirmation and does not include a recovery period.

Certain shared event records may remain in anonymized form where necessary for other participants, as explained in our Privacy Policy.

We may suspend or terminate access where reasonably necessary to address serious violations of these Terms, security risks, fraud, or legal requirements.

Where appropriate, we may provide notice or an opportunity to resolve an issue before taking action.

14. Availability and Changes to the Services

We aim to provide reliable Services but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free availability.

The Services may be affected by maintenance, technical failures, third-party outages, or other circumstances.

We may modify features, introduce new functionality, or discontinue parts of the Services.

Where changes materially affect users, we will provide appropriate notice when reasonably practicable or legally required.

15. Intellectual Property

Except for User Content and third-party materials, the Kadoora name, branding, application design, software, and other original materials are owned by Kadoora or its licensors.

We grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the Services for their intended purposes in accordance with these Terms.

You may not copy, redistribute, reverse engineer, or commercially exploit protected parts of the Services except as permitted by applicable law or with our permission.

16. Disclaimers

To the extent permitted by applicable law, the Services are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis.

We do not guarantee that:

  • AI-generated recommendations will be accurate or suitable.
  • Events or group gifts will be completed successfully.
  • Contributions pledged by users will be paid.
  • Organizers will purchase or deliver promised gifts.
  • Third-party products will be available or meet expectations.
  • The Services will operate without interruption or errors.

Nothing in these Terms limits any consumer protection, privacy, or other legal rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.

17. Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law, Kadoora will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from use of the Services, including losses involving external payment arrangements, third-party purchases, or user-generated content.

Kadoora's responsibility for direct losses will be determined under applicable law, taking into account the nature of the Services and the circumstances of the claim.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where doing so would be prohibited by law, including liability for fraud, intentional misconduct, or other non-excludable obligations.

18. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the applicable federal laws of Canada, subject to any mandatory consumer protection laws that apply to you.

Disputes relating to these Terms will be addressed in accordance with applicable law.

Nothing in this section prevents you from exercising rights or remedies available under mandatory consumer protection legislation.

19. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms to reflect changes to our Services, legal requirements, or business practices.

When we update the Terms, we will revise the "Last Updated" date.

For material changes, we may provide additional notice and request renewed acceptance where required by applicable law.

Your continued use of the Services following a validly communicated change may constitute acceptance where permitted by law.
