Privacy Policy
Effective October 12, 2026 · Last updated October 12, 2026
Kadoora ("Kadoora," "we," "us," or "our") is a gifting platform designed to help people discover thoughtful gifts, create wishlists, organize events, and coordinate group gifts.
Kadoora is based in Ontario, Canada.
We respect your privacy and are committed to explaining how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your personal information.
This Privacy Policy applies to the Kadoora mobile application, our website at kadoora.com, and related services (collectively, the "Services").
By using our Services, you acknowledge the practices described in this Privacy Policy. Where required by applicable law, we will obtain your consent for specific uses or disclosures of personal information.
1. Information We Collect
We collect information that you provide, information generated through your use of Kadoora, and certain technical information needed to operate our Services.
1.1 Account and Profile Information
When you register or maintain a Kadoora account, we may collect:
- Email address and authentication information.
- Full name, username, and profile photo.
- Birthday.
- Interests and personal descriptions, including information entered in your "About Me" section.
- Account preferences and settings.
Your username, full name, and profile photo may be visible to other registered Kadoora users.
Your birthday, interests, and About Me information are intended to be visible only to you and your accepted friends, subject to the applicable privacy controls.
1.2 Events, Wishlists, and Social Information
When you use Kadoora's social gifting features, we may collect:
- Events you create, join, or are invited to.
- Event titles, dates, occasions, descriptions, locations, and organizer information.
- Friend requests and friendship connections.
- Wishlists and wishlist items.
- Gift preferences and saved gift recommendations.
- Event invitations, participation status, and related notifications.
The information other users can see depends on the feature and its privacy settings.
Events are intended to be accessible only through invitations or approved participation, rather than automatically being visible to all friends.
Some wishlists may be shared with registered users, accepted friends, or approved event participants, depending on the visibility settings selected by the wishlist owner.
For surprise events, Kadoora is designed to restrict the intended recipient's access to the event and related gift-planning information until the organizer reveals it.
1.3 Group Gifts and Contributions
When you participate in group gifting, we may collect:
- Contribution amounts and currencies.
- Contribution status and confirmation information.
- Associated events and wishlist items.
- Payment instructions provided by event organizers.
Payment instructions may include contact information, such as an email address used to receive Interac e-Transfers.
Kadoora does not directly collect payment card credentials or banking login details for group contributions.
Payments are arranged directly between users outside Kadoora. We do not process, hold, transfer, or refund contribution funds.
Individual contribution information is intended to be accessible to the organizer and the relevant contributor. Other approved event participants may see aggregate contribution progress or receive general progress notifications without individual contributor names or amounts.
1.4 AI Gift Finder Information
When you use Kadoora's AI Gift Finder, we may process information relevant to generating gift recommendations, including:
- Recipient names and approximate ages.
- Recipient interests and profile descriptions.
- Wishlist item names.
- Private gift notes you have created about a recipient.
- Occasion, budget, relationship, and additional context you provide.
- Previously suggested gift titles when generating alternative recommendations.
Some of this information may concern other people, including your friends.
Please avoid including sensitive personal information about yourself or others in gift notes, profile descriptions, or additional AI Gift Finder instructions.
1.5 Website Analytics and Technical Information
With your consent, our website uses Google Analytics 4 to help us understand website usage and improve the visitor experience.
Depending on your interactions and browser settings, analytics information may include:
- Pages visited and interactions with website features.
- Approximate geographic location.
- Browser and device information.
- Website referral information.
- Analytics identifiers and cookies.
- Interactions measured through Google Analytics Enhanced Measurement.
We do not use Google Signals or Google Analytics advertising personalization features.
Our mobile application does not currently use a separate product analytics SDK.
We and our infrastructure providers may also process technical information, including IP addresses, device information, error records, and security logs, to operate and protect the Services.
1.6 Newsletter and Communications
If you subscribe to our newsletter or separately agree to receive promotional emails, we may collect your email address and information about your marketing preferences.
Creating a Kadoora account does not automatically subscribe you to marketing communications.
We may also process information you provide when contacting our support team.
1.7 Push Notifications
If you enable notifications, Kadoora may collect a device push notification token and related technical information needed to deliver notifications.
We use push notifications for functional purposes, such as event invitations, friend requests, contribution updates, and account-related notifications.
We do not currently use push notifications for promotional marketing.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use personal information to:
- Create, authenticate, and manage accounts.
- Provide profiles, friendships, events, and wishlists.
- Coordinate group gifts and track contribution progress.
- Generate AI-powered gift recommendations.
- Send relevant service notifications.
- Respond to support and privacy requests.
- Send marketing communications where you have separately consented.
- Understand and improve our website, subject to analytics consent.
- Maintain security, prevent misuse, and investigate reported violations.
- Comply with applicable legal obligations.
We limit our use of personal information to the purposes described in this Privacy Policy and other purposes permitted or required by applicable law.
3. AI Gift Recommendations and Google Gemini
Kadoora uses Google's Gemini API to generate personalized gift recommendations.
When you request AI gift suggestions, information relevant to the recipient and gift occasion may be transmitted to Google for processing.
This may include recipient profile information, interests, wishlist item names, private gift notes, and context you provide. Submitted content may be used to improve Google's products and services and may be subject to human review.
Accordingly, you should not assume that information submitted to the AI Gift Finder is confidential to Kadoora or excluded from Google's service-improvement processes.
Kadoora does not currently provide a separate AI-specific consent screen. Information about this processing is provided through this Privacy Policy.
AI-generated recommendations may be inaccurate, incomplete, or unsuitable. Users should independently evaluate recommendations before purchasing gifts.
4. How Information Is Shared
Kadoora may disclose personal information in the following circumstances.
4.1 With Other Kadoora Users
Information may be shared through the social features you choose to use.
For example:
- Registered users may see your username, full name, and profile photo.
- Accepted friends may see additional profile information.
- Approved event participants may access event information relevant to their participation.
- Wishlist information may be visible according to the wishlist's selected privacy settings.
- Organizers and contributors may access information relevant to their contributions.
We aim to restrict access to private events, surprise events, payment instructions, and individual contribution records according to the applicable privacy settings.
4.2 With Service Providers
We use third-party providers to operate Kadoora.
These include:
| Provider | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Supabase | Authentication, application database, and file storage |
| Google Gemini | AI gift recommendations |
| Google Analytics | Consent-based website analytics |
| Cloudflare | Website hosting and delivery |
| Loops | Newsletter and marketing email services |
| Expo and Apple Push Notification service | Functional push notifications |
| ImprovMX | Email forwarding for support communications |
These providers may process information on our behalf or under their own applicable service terms, depending on the service.
4.3 For Legal, Safety, and Security Reasons
We may disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with applicable law, respond to lawful requests, protect our Services, investigate fraud or misuse, or protect the rights and safety of users and others.
4.4 Business Transactions
If Kadoora is involved in a merger, acquisition, restructuring, or sale of assets, personal information may be transferred as permitted by applicable law and subject to appropriate safeguards.
We do not sell users' personal information to data brokers or advertisers.
5. Website Cookies and Analytics Consent
Our website uses Google Analytics 4 only after a visitor chooses to accept optional analytics.
When you first visit our website, you can accept or reject analytics through our cookie consent controls.
Analytics consent is denied by default.
We store your consent preference in your browser's local storage so that we can remember your choice on future visits.
You can change or withdraw your analytics consent using the Cookie Preferences link in our website footer.
Rejecting optional analytics does not prevent you from using the website's essential features.
We use Google Analytics Enhanced Measurement to understand certain website interactions. Google Signals and advertising personalization are disabled.
Our selected Google Analytics setting retains applicable user-level and event-level analytics data for two months. This setting does not necessarily apply to all aggregate reports or other information processed by Google.
Withdrawing analytics consent stops future optional analytics collection, but does not automatically erase information previously collected.
6. Marketing Communications
We may send newsletters, product updates, and promotional communications to users who have separately agreed to receive them.
Marketing consent is optional and is not required to create or use a Kadoora account.
You can unsubscribe using the link included in our marketing emails or by changing your communication preferences where available.
We may still send necessary service-related messages, such as important account or security communications.
7. Data Storage and International Processing
Kadoora's primary application database is hosted in Canada through Supabase.
However, some service providers, including Google and other infrastructure or communications providers, may process or store personal information outside Canada.
When personal information is processed in another country, it may be subject to that country's laws and lawful access requirements.
We use appropriate contractual, organizational, and technical measures to protect personal information in accordance with applicable requirements.
8. Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide our Services, fulfill the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, resolve legitimate issues, and comply with applicable legal obligations.
Accounts are not automatically deleted solely because they become inactive. We periodically review our retention practices and whether information remains necessary.
When you delete your account, we initiate permanent account deletion without a recovery period.
Certain shared event information may be preserved where necessary for other participants, with your personal information removed or anonymized as appropriate.
Events that cannot continue after an organizer deletes their account may be closed or cancelled.
Anonymized contribution records may be retained for up to 90 days following account deletion, unless a longer retention period is legally required.
Some information may remain temporarily in backups, operational logs, or third-party systems according to applicable retention practices.
9. Account Deletion and Your Privacy Choices
You can request permanent deletion of your Kadoora account directly through the mobile application.
Account deletion is intended to remove your account and associated personal information, subject to necessary retention exceptions and shared-record handling.
You may also request access to or correction of your personal information, ask questions about our privacy practices, or raise privacy concerns by contacting:
We may need to verify your identity before processing certain requests.
You can also manage relevant profile information, visibility settings, marketing preferences, and device notification permissions through the controls available in Kadoora or your device.
We will respond to privacy requests in accordance with applicable law.
10. Information Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration, and disclosure.
These may include authentication controls, access restrictions, encrypted communications, and security monitoring.
No internet-based service can guarantee absolute security.
You are responsible for protecting your account credentials and should contact us if you believe your account has been compromised.
11. Children's Privacy
Kadoora is intended for individuals who are 18 years of age or older.
We do not knowingly permit individuals under 18 to create accounts or use our Services.
If we learn that an account belongs to someone under 18, we may take steps to delete the account and associated information, subject to applicable law.
If you believe a minor has provided personal information to Kadoora, please contact support@kadoora.com.
12. Third-Party Websites and Services
Kadoora may display gift recommendations, product information, or links to third-party retailers and websites.
When you visit a third-party website or make a purchase outside Kadoora, that third party's privacy practices and terms apply.
Kadoora is not responsible for the privacy practices of independent third-party websites.
13. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes to our Services, privacy practices, service providers, or legal requirements.
When we make changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date.
